We have just reported this product as it set on fire whilst switched off and the door closed. The fire was stopped by unplugging the microwave.I wouldn't purchase a microwave like this again. It could of burnt our house down.Prior to it setting on fire, we found it quite tacky. My husband referred to it as a toy microwave as it made an awful 'ping' sound when it had finished. The time dial also didn't work accurately.
sianI had this kettle in red before however, the picture shows this in a nice matallic red which would have matched my Russell Hobbs matallic red mug tree and knife holder however, the kettle turned out to be the cheap plain plastic red colour and not matallic at all. I basically brought the same kettle!! Misleading picture. Needs changing.
DaveJWorst kettle ever two weeks in and the water dosent taste any better just tastes of PLASTIC and carnt take it back now as you only get 14 days so realy disgusting with argos was told to give it a bit longer as its new but nope my taste buds carnt hack it any more the review are shocking all saying about the taste yuk yuk
DebsterLooks good, nice blue light in it. What I didn't realize when I bought it, the entire inside is plastic lined, it gave the water a dreadful plastic/chemical taste even after at least 10 refills and boilings, noticable in tea and coffee, couldn't drink it. Took it back and got a stainless steel Russell Hobbs one instead
ReedbedMelOur previous kettle had a picture on the website that looked pretty much the same as the one here. The old kettle was made of metal and had a really nice deep red finish that was subtle and not too shiny. However, this model is a really cheap looking dull red plastic. We were so disappointed that it went straight back to Argos (who were excellent at refunding the money with no quibbles).
SJDWe returned the kettle as the water tasted of plastic. We boiled water in it several times and the water still had a plastic taste to it Would not recommend
TonyLove the look of the kettle and the colour perfectly matches my kitchen. I purchased this purely because of the colour and didn’t realise it was plastic. I’ve never had a plastic kettle before but the taste is awful. The boiled water tastes like TCP. I’m now having to use filtered water in the kettle which stops the awful taste.
NinesVery disappointed, not what I expected.
Tiggernice design, took longer than expected to boil when full, well over 3 minutes, fairly noisey, but had to take it back as even after boiling first for at least 5 times, got a horrible leg metallic after taste In my coffee, would not recommend
mattWish I had read other reviews before purchasing kettle Had to return kettle after a week due to the metallic taste everytime we used it Changed for a different brand which was perfect
PoppyWhen the kettle is used the water tastes terrible, would not recommend returning to Argos.
bobreturned kettle due to chemical taste and smell
nononsenseKettle looked very nice but the water tasted foul. A very plastic type taste even after boiling it ten times so I returned it to the shop.
tammyTakes ages to boil and is so big and chunky. The water meter on the side can only be filled half way until it’s full so a lot of extra space for no reason. Noise when boiling very loud.
NoodleIt is practical and functional. Ok for price. Takes about 10 boils to get rid of the taste of plastic in your hot drink.
PysterI've had my kettle 10 days now and I am still having to empty it of water that has already been boiled. There continues to be a nasty, chemical taste unless I boil with fresh water every time.
KarianneThe manufacturer must coat the inside of this kettle with some kind of preservative because it gives the water a horrible taste. I must have boiled the thing at least a dozen times and it still tasted foul. Took it back in the end and bought a cookworks one and had no problem with it.
NigelbAll plastic disgusting taste we had this kettle for a weeI it’s spoilt the taste of food i.e. rice spaghetti. A whole week Of tainted coffee and tea got to a point and took it back and spent more money on something else. So the moral of the story is you get what you pay for.
FudgeComplete rubbish
mickymoleLooks lovely but we had to stop drinking hot drinks after a week of trying as the water tasted of plastic despite several boils a day. Had to return and exchange for a cheaper one that' looks the same and was cheaper
