Nothing extra, just a straight forward microwave cooker
DavidCunnoldI've had this for about 6 years and it has finally given up the ghost - specifically the turntable has stopped working. As a previous reviewer said, the heating isn't even so you can get very hot spots and need to be careful if giving the "warmed" food/drink to children as it can be a nasty surprise.
The biggest issue with the microwave is that the numbers on the stainless exterior wore off very quickly to leave a clean metal surface. The top dial is relatively easy to guess the power setting. However for most of the last 6 years we have had to guess approximately where the numbers were for the time and usually end up using a smart phone to do the timing instead! This is a very fundamental design flaw and I'm almost relieved that it's died so that I can buy a new microwave. Good bye Bosch. Other than the numbers you were well made and served us (mostly) well, but no numbers is no use.

S. HarrisIt's nice and compact, which is great for my tiny kitchen.
It has a sleek chrome type finish, which matches my kettle.
It has two dials, which are easy to operate.
It has a sturdy push button to open and close.
It sits perfectly level on the worktop. No wonky feet like some..
It isn't a high temperature one, but I don't mind that.
Grill facility - I've just done two slices of toast with cheese triangles on and it tasted fine. The toast was crisp and even and the cheese browned. The grill tray is supplied and you just put it on the turntable.
The manual is clear and tells you most of what you need to know. I would have liked a list giving a rough idea of how long it should take to grill things. Toast for example. And some idea of what you can cook well in it. Will I be able to grill a pork chop? But as all appliances vary, I am happy to just see as I go along.
The chrome finish means that fingerprints do show up on it, but they are easily cleaned off with a damp sponge and cloth to wipe dry.
So far I am happy with this little microwave and grill.

SuzeIt has no on/off switch, which I find a bit disconcerting. Also it is rather smaller inside than I was expecting. Can't comment on the grill as not yet used but otherwise satisfactory.
P JarvisReally happy with it, no faults in looks or cooks, to the man who wanted a metal finnish on the inside, your simply an idiot and anyone moaning about the wattage Christ above knows what you are trying to sinder but 800w is plenty, it's a bosch and its fantastic value I think!
Kev from LondonThe good bits: It looks great, the build quality seems good and in terms of cooking it is certainly pretty simple - I would rate it as ideal for a first time microwave user who might find some of the more complex set ups confusing. For example you have to select the wattage to use from separate buttons (avoiding inadvertent nuclear cooking incidents). It is also a very tidy size - not taking up too much room at all. And you can set special user defined programmes - so if you regularly use it for doing a particular thing, you can simply set that as a defined programme.BUT: the 800W thing is an issue. First off most top end microwaves these days are 1000W. So its already a step down. Secondly as another reviewer says, it is not really a 800W at all - the instructions are very firm about only using the 800W for liquid (tho I have used it for porridge without ill effects). Now if you are used to 1000W the time taken to heat at 600W is pretty vexing! Also I am not sure about the evenness of the job done - I would put it behind the results of my old beloved old Sanyo combi (RIP). I am also struggling with the defrost programmes which are less user friendly than I am used to (no defrost bread, meat fish programmes) - and require resort to the handbook (which can be awkward if you lose it as I tend to do). This sounds more negative than positive - and I don't mean that. It is a good product - you just have to accept it for what it is - which is not perfect ...

Purchased for its simplicity for my father in care flat.
Neat steel exterior is good and I like the fact it had a two year guarantee.
Grill is quick and controlled by the timer. Rack is suitable for making a bit of cheese on toast
Has no clock. Just two dials one for function other for time, simply pings at the end.
Cons
If you required precisely 43 seconds with the dial you would struggle - distance to the first minute is rather small.
Choice of grill and microwave combinations on top dial - you do have to look see which it is on as there is no default to microwave, it will stay where you last left it.

downTheGardenWhile I am pleased to have a reliable microwave with a grill, I was dismayed to find that my "800W" microwave was really only a 600W microwave, because the instructions state that cooking and re-heating must be done on 600W, and the 800w can be used only for heating liquids. This product should have been advertised as a 600W microwave with grill, with an 800W facility for heating liquids.

Had this microwave for a little over a month now...got it for it's simple operational dials - one for time and one for temp, in my mind that's all you need and not the dashboard of the space-shuttle. Nice clean stainless exterior which would have been greatly appreciated if this was followed through on to the inside as well...that's my only gripe really of an otherwise decent product...it's a Bosch
