I have received the item 2 days ago. I tried all three of the possibilities... all three are disappointing. I can’t even believe it.Globally it’s just not hot enough. I made sure to preheat it etc but waffles took nearly 10mins to cook. Toasties take ages as well and are just not right. It also kind of feel like my daughter’s kitchen toys. The middle bit holding both sides is so not reliable. I didn’t even try to put something big but two slices of bread and a bit of cheese. It snapped with the condensation of the waffles... ridiculousIt’s also quite difficult to clean and I will not even start on the buttons you need to push to get the things out of the machines in order to change or clean them... barely working..!Very disappointed with the product. We had one from Lidl before it was 20£ and was AMAZING!
Coleen McMenaminVery disappointed with this product, it's small to say the least. You have to cut a panini in half and do it one half at a time, or use small chiabatta rolls one at a time, and as for the sandwich toaster if you use Warburtons bread forget it as you have to cut the bread down otherwise the lid won't lock down. Only reason i didn't take it back is Daughter wants it for making waffles for breakfast. wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
RichardthesadThe sandwich toaster liked and sounded great, but the performance let it down despite the price being one of you more expensive toasters.
GOBought this mainly for majoring waffles. The first time I put too much mixture in and it overflowed! After that we had perfect waffles!! Now, however, every time they stick so much that we can’t get them out and end up with very broken waffles. We make them exactly the same every time, so have no idea why this is happening. Really disappointed. Makes great toasties though
VLFor to long to toast etc.
SadOnly tried the waffle plates after 20 mins the bottom was cooked but the top was raw turned the waffle over and tried to cook the top of waffle on the lower plate but this didn't really work. Returned it and as this was the second Salter 3in1 snack maker and both did exactly the same thing the top plate on both machines didn't cook and it takes far too long cooking just the bottom plate (20 mins). Gave up and bought a different brand. The idea is brilliant as 3 different facilities in one machine means less clutter in the kitchen.
lionel HollisBought it three months ago. Looked sturdy from the outside and worked well but two weeks after the purchase the hinge snapped while closing the lid. It turned out that this most important part was made of weak brittle plastic, like in a cheap toy. The lid would not close properly any more.
Rather than fuffing around with returning the whole thing I wanted to get a spare and replace it myself. Salter, or whatever company is behind this brand, replied promptly but offered no spare parts. They suggested searching the web...
I managed to fix the hinge by drilling though the remaining part and replacing the broken plastic bit with a steel M6 bolt. That did the trick and I could use it again.
Unfortunately, after a couple more months of use the non-stick coating started flaking off. You can see on the picture missing bits of it and little bubbles forming that later crack and the paper thin coating peels off, potentially ending in your sarnie.
Hopefully it will be a hassle free return with Amazon. I'd recommend investing in a better quality product.

machinogodzillaThis is a great sandwich/panini toaster and very popular with the teenagers in the house. The waffle element though is a bit disappointing and I am not quite sure where the problem lies. Possibly that the grooves are too deep. I have given up now after 4 attempts, experimenting with different batters, oils for the plates and techniques - when opening it up half the waffle is stuck to the bottom and the other half to the top. Otherwise, a very good product.
ElfaBought this to replace my old one which I set on fire and melted. Also to save my oven from the same fate.First few times turning it on it looks like it knew what I was like and started smoking. Smelled really bad. Made my bread smell. Don’t like smelly bread.Dog growled at it several times, really didn’t like the thing. I agree with the dog.Is really easy to clean. Does adapt very well, cooking your hand works tremendously. Can melt other things. Bad durability for almost catching fire within the first 2 minutes and this time I swear it wasn’t my fault. They do come out looking good.
ConnorThis has been used quite a few times since purchased, works well but in my opinion is rather slower to heat up and cook than previous product we have owned. At the moment the non stick works well but is already beginning to show areas of small bubbles. One year on, the bubbles turned into patches where the non stick has come away and the metal underneath is badly exposed. I have contacted Salter because it came with a three year guarantee but they will not do anything and said it was down to Amazon. How can you get in touch with Amazon with complaints? I have no idea.
Nick GaskinI did not buy this item because it was too small and you would be lucky to find the right size bread to make a decent sandwich. I returned it and got my money back.
ericI loved the waffle maker at first, it made the most amazing waffles. However within a week it started sticking even though we followed the cleaning instructions. Such a shame.
AmyDon't know if this affects more than just the item I received but mine was clearly previously used as the plates and the inside of the machine was covered in what appeared to be fork/knife scratches
JordanThis item is disappointingly small. If my partner hadn't been 'helpful' and unpacked it, throwing away all the packaging before I had an opportunity to look at it, I would have returned it unused. So I'm probably going to have to go out now and buy another waffle maker but I'll make sure I get the dimensions before I purchase. I'm not saying it doesn't work, or make an adequate toasted sandwich, panini or waffle but they would have to be tiny to fit on/in the templates provided.
JulesI initially bought this as a gift for my friend in July. However, when she used it for the first time last week and before the green light had even come on to indicate it had heated to the correct temperature, smoke was pouring out of toaster. Upon opening it, we realised the plastic had completely melted away as you can see in the pictures. This included the hinges so the waffle plates couldnt even stay in place. I'm not sure if this was a faulty product or what but I emailed to discuss this and after the 3rd response I was no longer able to reply, whenever i would try to send a message it would say 'messages can no longer be sent'. I'm writing this review as a last resort really to get them to contact me. It's a shame really as the toaster had such good reviews.
AbiIn the instructions it said to check the waffle after 3 minutes, after 3 not cooked after 6 not cooked after 9 not cooked only after 12 minutes was it cooked, every thing else is fine with the unit it just took 12 minutes to cook the waffle. Way too long.
ksBought it for it's waffle making option. It doesn't get hot enough and cooks them very very slowly.
IMvery small for the price, a little slow to cook waffles but sandwiches etc no problem.
saraThe product is work purchasing if looking for all 3. Only problem is watts, it takes time to heat up. Other wise it’s all good.
ShahCreate delicious waffles, toasted sandwiches and paninis in one unit with this Salter 3 in 1 snack maker featuring extra large cooking plates for larger, deeper, extra filled snacks. The power and ready indicator lights make it incredibly easy to use, while the cool touch handles provide safety during use. It comes with 3 sets of removable top and bottom cooking plates for an even, thorough bake and because the plates are non-stick the treats will easily be released once they are cooked.
