The non stick is poor around the middle of each toastie and the bread sticks and pulls the toastie apart. It was ok for the first month of occasional use but is not fit for purpose!

Don’t buy - the machine is great for about 5 toasties but the non stick coating peels off. I only used plastic utensils and wiped clean with a soft cloth. I recycled the box so couldn’t get refund ????

Had it just over a year but only used it about once a month, max. It now sticks and destroys every sandwich you try to cook in it!

Bought it three months ago. Looked sturdy from the outside and worked well but two weeks after the purchase the hinge snapped while closing the lid. It turned out that this most important part was made of weak brittle plastic, like in a cheap toy. The lid would not close properly any more.Rather than fuffing around with returning the whole thing I wanted to get a spare and replace it myself. Salter, or whatever company is behind this brand, replied promptly but offered no spare parts. They suggested searching the web...I managed to fix the hinge by drilling though the remaining part and replacing the broken plastic bit with a steel M6 bolt. That did the trick and I could use it again.Unfortunately, after a couple more months of use the non-stick coating started flaking off. You can see on the picture missing bits of it and little bubbles forming that later crack and the paper thin coating peels off, potentially ending in your sarnie.Hopefully it will be a hassle free return with Amazon. I'd recommend investing in a better quality product.

Good capacity for deep fill sandwiches - works well when in use for a number of sandwiches in quick succession - easy to clean - & no need to cut crusts off, so less wastage & sandwiches hold shape.

I initially bought this as a gift for my friend in July. However, when she used it for the first time last week and before the green light had even come on to indicate it had heated to the correct temperature, smoke was pouring out of toaster. Upon opening it, we realised the plastic had completely melted away as you can see in the pictures. This included the hinges so the waffle plates couldnt even stay in place. I'm not sure if this was a faulty product or what but I emailed to discuss this and after the 3rd response I was no longer able to reply, whenever i would try to send a message it would say 'messages can no longer be sent'. I'm writing this review as a last resort really to get them to contact me. It's a shame really as the toaster had such good reviews.

Doesnt do the job. Dont toast propely and its so sticky. Not happy at all

Absolutely disgusted with this item, I bought it just over a month ago and have used it roughly 4 times. Gone to use it tonight and nearly had 2nd degree burns after the top metal plate completely fell out whilst in use. Will not buy again

Locking clasp broke on 2nd use. I don't think the sandwich I was making that deep :-(

The toasties are never crisp and the plastic clip on the handle broke after two weeks

Not to impressed with this the plastic catch that held the toaster shut broke after a few weeks

Other than you can not find a slice of bread to fit it toast very well.The deep fill makes a far more interesting type of sandwich.

The plates are too big for normal sized breads bought from supermarkets. I have returned it. It was helpful from the previous reviews that I could check by placing a normal bread slice over the plates without putting it on.It may work well with larger sized breads.

I will be returning this product as it is nigh on impossible to find bread that actually fits this thing. We have tried toastie loaves, big and thick and even baking our own with little success. Little is an understatement, with any normal size bread you can write of 1/3 of each slice and just use a half a toastie or be prepared for mass contents leakage and a fun time cleaning the non removable toasting plates.

All good except too low power(900w). Only works for sandwiches. Impossible make the deserts. Will recommend choosing with the bigger power 1200W or more...

It works just fine. The shape of the plates are all wrong though! l researched for a toaster which would take normal sized bread, not the minute ones that sell now. UK bread is rectangular, this is square!! l don't get a seal on my sandwich and everything drops everywhere. Losing hope for a very simple product.
