Not accurate and very disappointing
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I am disappointed with this. It looks nice and is not noisy, but it never shuts off. I have other dehumidifiers set to 40% and they shut off and test the air the turn back on when necessary. They also show an accurate reading, i.e. 44,43,42,41,40 as the humidity decreases. This ecoair dehumidifier only shows two readings, 45 and 40 and constantly flips between the two and never shuts off, even when other dehumidifiers and other instruments show the room to be at 40% humidity. It's going back on Monday. Rubbish!

It went downhill fairly rapidly
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Started out okay, pretty noisey but at least it drew water from the air, but it got progressively noisier and less efficient over time. After 18 months it runs almost continuously, cutting out very infrequently for short periods of time but managing to draw no water from the air, also it clatters away making huge amounts of noise making it unuseable when you're trying to sleep. I'm binning it as it's clearly no longer working properly and is out of warranty.

Measured independently: it barely does anything
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I’ve been using mine for a few months and I’ve realised that it simply does not work. Originally I thought it was great: I would place it in a damp room and it would say “humidity 85%” and after an hour of running that figure would be down to 45%. However, I was soon surprised to notice how rarely I had to change the water tank, perhaps once every three weeks of average use. To put my suspicion to the test, I bought a separate humidity meter and placed it in the room near the dehumidifier and I realised that the measurements were all wrong. At the start humidity in the (closed) room was at 60% and after leaving the dehumidifier for four hours in full power, the humidity had only moved to 58%, which explains why so little water was being collected. Meanwhile the dehumidifier built in humidity meter showed a spectacular fall in humidity, which was simply inaccurate/wrong. As a result, my opinion is that the negligible difference is really not worth the running costs. Also very noisy and difficult to move around the house.
