I Bought my first Samsung 12kg machine in 2014. Samsung UK (their so-called "Dedicated Support Team") didn't want to know when it became faulty with the now infamous "E3 Motor Error" on the LCD screen and Samsung Support came up with every excuse going for them not to repair. Even though it was supposed to come with a 5 year guarantee on the machine and a 10 year guarantee for the motor! Those "5 year" and "10 year" guarantee stickers they put on their machines don't mean a thing! The Samsung guarantee really isn't worth the paper its written on! The worst customer service experience I have ever had for anything I have bought in the past 20+ years within the UK. In 2016, I eventually had to get a Nationwide authorised "Samsung" service engineer to have a look at the machine and they confirmed the motor and control PCB board were faulty and beyond economical repair.
I had to replace the machine and I needed a larger drum machine that I could wash domestic washing in. Due to the lack of choice within the market I stupidly bought another Samsung 12kg machine as the choice is very limited within the UK domestic market. Two years later, now in 2018, the exact same thing has happened again! I used the same National, Samsung approved service engineers and they have told me this time (in August 2018) to stay well clear of Samsung washing machines. The infamous "E3 Motor Error" is endemic across the whole Samsung range causing the machines to be very unreliable and you should regard the machines as "disposable" like the cheaper washing machine brands, as Samsung's will need a new motor control PCB approximately every 2-3 years of relatively light use.....this equates to approximately a £280+ repair (August 2018 price) each time they become faulty, and that's if they can get the spares which raises another issue. Spares for Samsung's within the UK are distributed from Holland and can be very difficult to source....you could be waiting months or find that no spares are available at all depending on the model you own!
