Purchased one through Tesco Direct in April, so far we have had 3 engineer visits to repair a loose counterweight, broken drum support, heating element and 2 control panels (PCB's?). The machine has locked on two occasions full of water and wouldn't drain.
The quickest a Hotpoint engineer could repair it was a 2 week wait, so we had washing sitting in dirty water for all this time which had to be discarded. Hotpoint wont replace a machine unless its had at least 3 repairs, and that's if you can get through to their customer services department - 25-35mins on hold is quite common. The local launderette has made a fortune out of us!! :)
