Most terrible washing machine I've ever purchased in my 40yrs of using washing machines Have to respin most things. Some washes are ridiculously long. Always had hotpoint but not anymore. So disappointed.

Ok, one and a half years old and this morning it has had a catastrophic failure. Smoke belching out the back, electrical burning smell and making what I can only describe as a screaming noise. The company who sold it to me Electrical Discount UK sent a one-line email 'contact Hotpoint' with no contact number. Called Hotpoint. Usual situation. Explain the problem to switchboard they put me through to Guarantee section when I explained it was out of guarantee. Spoke to someone and they told me couldn't help. All they could do was put me through to the repair team. Put back through to the switchboard where I had to explain the problem again. Hung up in frustration. Probably not going to call because this machine is absolutely dead, it is as dead as a washing machine can be. Going to have to fork out for a new one three weeks before Christmas. HiAlthough the washing machine seems to be okay it doesnt take the conditionor out and only has long wash cycles.Not what we were expecting.
