I did a lot of research even on youtube before buying this. What a waste of money. Cheese toastie using thick toasting bread came out wafer thin, cheese poured out everywhere. I did use it correctly, too. Don't waste your money. Suffice to say I no longer have this.
fuzzyI bought this panini maker by reading the reviews , onece you put the panini in you can’t close it with the lock hatchet on the side you have to hold it down for few minutes whilst it’s cooking .
AlisonThe machine works but tends to squash sandwiches made with conventional and italian bread. Probably a design fault.
HopeToo small to fit 2 small panini on at same time top of lid doesn't sit flat so cooks more at one end have to lift back end to adjust top not easy when hot. Wouldn't buy again.
WendywooGreat product but not for 3 panini's. More like 2 toasties. It is very good at what it does. We have used ours a lot since it came. Doesn't take long to heat up and just a few minutes to make 2 servings. There are only two of us to cater for but I wish I had bought a larger one. So easy to clean and store after using. Would recommend this particular one if you only need 2 small panini's. Get the larger one if more are required.
emrysb123Well item does melt cheese in a toastie.and cook burgers...it will only do two slices unless you use the tiny bread.."toasty" bread has the room for two side by side...the lid is fixed at the back..(hinged) and the flat plate just swivels either side on its middle...so a thick sarnie might lose some contence ..It does not have the ribs like the other models, as shown on box...any liquid stays on bottom plate.. but can be cleaned with a paper towel...watch for hot steam when lifting handle that locks on only one side...(poor design)..the old style one was better...but its what you pay for I suppose....

phildiyBought this thinking it would be good but got the old one back out of the shed !! This just flattens the sandwich and burns them. You cannot turn it up or down like my other one so the one heat is meant to do everything .However some cheeses don't melt if you don't let it burn the bread . Don't waste your money..
AnitaLarger and heavier than expected. No timer. Fell short of my expectations in numerous other ways.
MorgieAbsolutely useless, no stability and impossible to lock when you put a sandwich in it
Copper1The description says it takes "3 slices" and "3 paninis". I'd love to know what make of loaf Breville used when making that claim! I agree that it's wide enough for 3 paninis but not deep enough unless they are very small ones. The bread in the photo I've uploaded is from a standard Morrisons loaf. You can see that the press just about accommodates 2 slices.
Mark10759Easy to use.. Makes the toaste hot and red from outside very quick, cold from inside.
SanaIT IS A RUBBISH TOOL. IT CRUSHED MY THIN WHIE SLICED BREAD CHEESE AN ONION SANDWICH AS FLAT AS A PANCAKE. IF YOU DONT USE THE "LOCK" ALL THE HEAT ESCAPES AND YOU END WITH BURNT TOP AND BOTTOM AND UNCOOKED MIDDLE.. UTTER TRASH, I BINNED IT A ONE USE.
JNFGAMBLER24-7Disappointed, I had ordered a sandwich maker round sealed edges but changed to this one thinking I could make a square ordinary toasted sandwich. No it works so well the sandwich ends up almost the thickness of a piece of paper. Cannot understand the 5 star reviews. Sorry,
MoImpif you buy this from argos, open box in store and check that the top plate doesn't rub on the arms, unfortunately it took me a few times to realise one side was rubbing and so couldn't take back. Other than that the build quality is poor although it looks nice, and in fairness does a really good job of toasting various sizes of bread and crumpets buns etc. would I buy again ? probably but would check for the above defect.
PigletThe panini maker didn’t work for me , it sounded good but didn’t deliver the product inside ended up extremely thin and flat there was no substance left to it ,
JackieThe drawback of this item is the sandwich is pushed forward so doesn't get toasted correctly
zanpatimrI find it takes quite a long time to actually toast the bread and melt cheese filling but the non-stick surface is easy to clean and it fits 2 sandwiches at a time with ease. This is a basic model which is what I wanted so I wasn't expecting it to do more!
ToastieVery good standard product. It’s unfortunate that Argos have advertised the plate size incorrectly! It is no where near. The actual press including handle is near enough that size, but not the actual plates as advertised. I bought this for work and had it not already been used I would have returned this for a refund.
kaliasReally good for panini s and soft rolls and bread heats quite quickly. Only floor I found is it does not toast evenly needs to be turned halfway through to toast evenly. Otherwise satisfied with this product.
