I bought this model from a shop whilst on holiday, it worker three times then died. Unfortunately I was unable to return it so I took it apart, a small component in line with the live feed, had gone open circuit. Easy to bypass but as I do not know it's purpose I decided to buy a different waffle maker as a replacement. I suggest avoiding this product.

Thought I had a great deal after buying this from a local shop for less than £25 and I get 3 plates. But after 2 months of use just for grilled sandwiches, the non-stick coating came off bit by bit. Health risk. For additional ten quid, best buy a standard health grill.

Although I have never tried to make waffles (based on others comments), I have used it a couple of times per week to make toasted sandwiches which it does reasonably well.

However after only a few weeks use, the hinges between the base and top started to work loose. I have tightened them up a few times but as the screws screw into the plastic, they no longer grip and the top is now permanently loose to the point it no longer puts pressure on to seal toasted sandwiches. Also the sandwiches do stick to the allegedly non stick surface of the toaster plates.

Overall a cheaply made sandwich toaster, with a short life. There are better ones on the market.

20min cooking time for waffles..... too slow. I'd you're thinking of getting this machine... choose a different one...

We have tried this three times now and had no success. The waffles should take "3-4 minutes" to cook but the fastest we have managed is about 20 minutes! They were unevenly cooked: underneath was crisp and the top wasn't; the front was cooked and the back was still doughy. Because my daughter was really disappointed that she couldn't have waffles on demand, I tried to use it to make lots and put them in the freezer. However, the maker has just been on for these past three hours and we have 10 waffles to show for our efforts!
Also, the waffles come out very thin. We were hoping for the lovely, thick, "crispy outside and fluffy inside" waffles we have experienced on holiday. Maybe we were just unlucky and got a faulty machine but I would heartily discourage anyone from buying this.
