Interesting designed camera, with a nice wide f2.2 lens and ISO limit up to 1600 make this a useful coverall camera for close up action, such as kids playing (I've been using it in the middle of a model railway) or for getting in the middle of a formal meal, etc. I originally wanted it for going cycling with my kids - previously I've had to shoot behind my back - but given the shape of the camera (looks a bit like a mushroom) and finish it might not be the best shape for wearing on a head mount, so looking at getting a case for it before using it for more action based activity. It is a good idea to use some type of mount - I've used a small tripod that makes it about 10" tall - as holding it in a hand will show up as distorted when the shot is stitched together, and placing it straight on a surface also can cause some aberrations. When mine arrived, I noticed that there were marks in the centre on each of the plastic domes that protect the lenses. I think this is caused from rubbing in the protective bag it comes with, but so far I haven't seen they any effect to the cameras image (probably as they're too close for the camera to focus on) but will keep an eye on it.EDIT: Since writing this review (for a camera I've only had a few day), the images the camera produces have suddenly degraded. Looking back at video I've made, I've worked out it happened after I put the camera (on the tripod) down next to my son, who was playing on the floor. The arrangement is quite top heavy, and he's knocked it over, with falling that 10" resulting in a scratched outer lens, enough to be visible to the inner lens. Samsung say as this is physical damage, repair would be chargeable.I've seen a couple of posts that suggest you can improve the problem with scratch remover and toothpaste, so will have a go with that, though it does make the camera seem quite fragile if such a small impact causes such a result. I've dropped phones, tablets, point and shoot cameras and even an DSLR from greater heights and not caused anywhere near the issue

I'm having a lot of fun with this. It's a genuine product and no different to the UK version.Delivery to Ireland was really fast.

This product feels like a prototype. It's glitchy. Has trouble turning on (often 10 to 15 attempts). Over heats and turns off super easy. And has a patch record uploading images to phone. Great concept but really poor product execution., support lines to Samsung take ages to get thru the. Just send you to a store.
PaulI just got my Samsung Gear 360 (2017) today and it is very good, small and easy to use (I had to buy from Samsung directly as Amazon did not have the product available when I tried to buy it).I like that you can stream live from it and that you can control it from your phone. Also you can download the video editing software fromwww dot samsung dot com/uk/support/model/SM-R210NZWABTU/for free. Online there is some confusion with the older version of the software and older camera model on how to activate it. The latest version is the one on the Samsung website so do not use any other page to get the software. To activate it you can either just connect your gear 360 to pc (which did not work for me) or just input the serial number of the product (it is on the device on a tiny sticker), the latter method worked for me and the software activated. So far so good!

Samsung are going downhill. There is no charger plug included. There was no product key included for the ActionDirector software that you need to view 360 videos - it's supposed to be included and no I did not misplace it, I kept everything incase I needed to return it. The Micro SD side card slot is impossible to pull out without using a tool of some sort. I ordered this direct off Samsung UK website (not Amazon) - there was a returns information slip included that informed you to attach the provided address label to the box to return it, BUT of course that was not included either, so I can't even return it! Seriously Samsung, WTF???
