This is a beautiful lens. Autofocus is a little slow, but it more than makes up for that in picture quality. It is a quality bit of equipment.
Richard JohnsonAn amasing lens. Equivalent to the old 75-200mm (close). The sharpness of the images and extra stops in the aperture gives more accurate focusing, great Bokeh effect and less need to use a tripod. Quite compact and light compared to others I've seen.
I'd definitely recommend this lens.

Mr. Les TaylorNice Clean quality lens
MEexpensive but worth it
SebbceeWonderfully sharp even wide open and beautiful colours and contrast. If you have the opportunity to get your hands in one then don't hesitate.
Steve EverittExcellent lens, I haven't taken it off the camera since I got it. With the Pentax K5 its just brilliant.
Amazon CustomerThis is one of the best Pentax lens out there, and I love this its just so sharp, and clear The image quality is the best ive had up to now! If you have not got one then you should it's a great lens.
Mr. S. WilsonThis is a real beautiful lens to use The image quality matches the prime lenses that I own, unlike the much cheaper Pentax Kit Zooms or the 18mm-250mm zoom.
W SpaldingFor some years Pentax have produced "star" lenses (M*, A* etc) and now they have started producing the DA* lenses which include their "supersonic" SDM focusing motor (you sometimes have to upgrade the firmware on your camera to take advantage of this, although the older focussing system will still work). This lens is fast (f2.8) and as a result a little heavy, but gives utterly stunning results: very sharp, clean and undistorted. Their have been some reports in the literature of bad examples (mainly focussing issues) but mine has worked flawlessly. The autofocus doesn't seem much faster than the old system, but is almost silent. I am now saving up for the DA* 16-50mm. It is great to Pentax starting to produce good top quality gear once more after some years of producing less than wonderful kit.
Kris LockyearThe PENTAX DA * 50-135mm F2.8 ED (IF) telephoto zoom lens is designed for exclusive use with PENTAX digital SLR cameras, delivering an exceptionally high level of optical image quality. With aspherical elements, special extra-low dispersion glass elements and original lens coatings, this lens is superior in terms of contrast, clarity and edge-to-edge sharpness. The 50-135mm features tightly sealed, weather-resistant and dust-resistant construction to enhance durability for use in rain or dusty conditions. An SDM system has been incorporated for smoother, quieter autofocusing operation using a built-in supersonic motor. It also features the PENTAX-original Quick-Shift Focus System for instant switching to manual-focus operation and PENTAX-original SP (Super Protect) coating to repel dust, water and grease.
