Compression master
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

This beauty completes my ideal range of lenses. I have used this lens only for a few shots to date, but the sharpness, speed, and compression needed is quite exceptional. I did not find a need to go to the f2.8 as most of my work would be from f5.6 -f11

My go to lens
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

After switching from a Canon 5Ds to a Sony A7iii I was contemplating adapting my existing canon lenses with an adapter. I found that it worked okay but hunted for focus quite a bit. So I made the decision to sell my canon lenses and go native. I purchased the 70-200 f4 and I can’t believe how sharp and fast it is. It’s half the weight of the canon 70-200 L lens. Works surprisingly well in low light also. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone.

A well made and portable standard zoom for the Sony A7 series cameras.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This is a full frame standard zoom for the Sony cameras using the E Mount. It is well built and light in weight (when compared to its competitors from Canon and Nikon). I use it with an A7 RIII and now an A7 RIV.

I have been very impressed with this lens. It focuses quickly and accurately and is light enough in weight that it does not unbalance the camera for hand held shots. Picture quality is above average and they seem to be sharp and performs as expected from a lens of this cost. Whether it extracts the full resolution from either Sony A7's I have is subject to debate (it does not), but I know I can crop in without a problem and get very sharp pictures. I have invested in F/4 series lenses rather than F/2.8 since the larger aperture lenses are too heavy for carry around use even though their better light collecting ability is not in doubt. However the sensors in todays cameras are extremely good and low noise even up >6400 ISO which means we can use these smaller aperture lenses without fear of loosing that shot in low light.

I would recommend this lens to anyone with an E Mount Sony, especially the A7 and A7R series. It is portable, very well made and gives excellent results. Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent lens with a bargain price

When I bought this lens I already owned the 2.8 GM version and this was a purchase for my son. All I can say is wow. It's a joy to use, af is fast and accurate the iq is amazing and it's so light weight. Obviously the 2.8 is better but at this price it's a must have. Buy it you won't be disappointed.

I bought this when it was around £680 or so from Amazon UK.The performance was ok and the build quality was excellent.I have since moved to Canon EOS platform, who seem to have a wider selection better lenses at more reasonable price.

Sharp and light in weight
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

I bought this about a month ago and I am glad I was talked out of buying the F2.8 version as it is nearly half of the weight but even at F4 minimum I found this lens to be very sharp and with excellent shallow depth of field. Its lightweight means that I can carry and use a telephoto most of the day without getting tired compared to a very much heavier and more expensive F2.8 70-200 lens
