Not the sharpest zoom lens you'll find, but probably one of the best options at this price point. I only tend to use this lens if I really need to go telephoto, but I am definitely glad it is in my affordable kit bag. I have a friend who has gotten some stunning wildlife photography shots on this lens, bot of us would not have been able to afford anything very expensive at the time, and have achieved good results!
If you already have a prime, and you're looking for the next bit of great affordable kit, this is a good option!

Christine H.Good value and great picture quality !
aL.x1o7SPicture quality is ok, stock lens you get with a lumix GX9 takes much sharper pictures
MR B.I'm hesitant to recommend this lens. It's certainly well-built, and there's nothing wrong with the image quality when there's plenty of light available, but you do really feel the limitation of the narrow max aperture here. I should have saved my money and bought something that opened up to f2.8, but I just don't have the buying power anymore, sadly.
CloselyObservedEnglishVery light lens. Used it on my Lumix GH5 and found the quality a little suspect. The F5.6 maximum aperture was a pain too, since the GH5 is not the best camera in low light and the lens seems best at f8-11. Not possible to get the background out of focus with nice bokeh either. I returned mine because it was not as good as my manual Nikon f2.8 135mm lens from 1978, but for a hobby photographer it could be a good lens to have in the bag, so not all was bad and the Nikon is pretty heavy by comparison.
JDThe Lumix range of cameras and lenses are great to use, powerful for their size and this lens was a great price with great delivery
kenneth owenI still find it difficult to think of Panasonic as a camera maker. I'm in my 70s and still think TVs and HiFi. But they do make exceedingly good cameras. (Sorry Mr Kipling). This lens is great. It's light, its sharp, and it works. Have no regrets about buying it, and would recommend.
P. J. Longlight and smooth - now need to see how my pictures will come out of it
Boaz ArbelPerforms as expected.
Amazon CustomerGreat bit of kit.Used it a lot in Longleat Safari park. Some great pics.
J. PeacockGreat lens. Small, light, and well made. Images produced with it are crisp and sharp. Enjoying using it!
Amazon CustomerIdeal second lens for anyone with a Panasonic LUMIX G range camera.Better build quality than the standard 14-42mm kit lens and produces clear sharp images without the bulk or weight penalties of the 14-140mm or 45-200 mm lenses.
Mr. Ed BeatonJust what.i expected
Amazon CustomerGreat lens, sharp and well made!
DamonFast delivery,excellent product
p.l.jordanI bought this late 2016 when there wasn't much sun about mainly for small animals. With the GX80 being my 1st non compact camera I felt disheartened using it on dull cloudy days as the results were disappointing. Now the weather has brightened up (along with my shutter speed) I'm really seeing some improvements in quality with this lens. Ideal for duck shots or cropping pigeon sized animal. Not really long enough for small birds such as swallows or tits.It is hit or miss sometimes on whether you get the shot you want on moving subjects as by the time it has focused and with the shutter lag on the GX80, an animal can easily move out of the DOF, which is why I normally set my camera to continuous shooting. Stationary targets being a doddle.I try to keep to ISO 100/200 if the light allows, as I find bokeh can become very grainy when cropping is needed or due to lightroom enhancements. Thats with every lens, not just this one.
R. CoughlinThis is a good quality telephoto lens with manual zoom action. Unlike the standard 14-42mm lens supplied with the camera, this lens has a very smooth and quiet action. Note that the zoom is not motorised, making it ideal for video applications where the noise of a zoom motor would be picked up by the camera's onboard microphone. The downside is that if you use the Panasonic ImageApp application to control the camera from your mobile phone you will not be able to adjust the zoom level.A top quality secondhand lens is available for about half the price of a new unit.
