My go to lens for long shots
Mr BVery high quality lens for not a massive price. I unfortunately do more work as a photographer than as a cinematographer these days, which made the lack of autofocus unhelpful. Sold it.
E.GreavesThis is a fantastic lens at an incredible price. It is not without it's pitfalls I've noticed it can be a little soft but it gives a wonderful picture and is super smooth to use. It is sturdy and very well designed. Though minus points for the cheap feeling lens cap and hood. If you're an indie filmmaker and you need a few good lenses I have two of these and love them both. The more expensive cinelenses will probably out perform this but they aren't a little bit more expensive they are considerably more expensive and so the law of diminishing returns applies. I contimplated getting these lenses for a long time. After I bought them I felt a little silly for waiting for so long. Some awesome features are the de-clicked apperture which is super smooth. This allows you to change f.stops super easy and the on lens focus markings which will help you out with things like hyperfocal lenght ect. I want more!!

Luke BrownComing from regular lenses, this lens really changed the game for my productions. The focus pulling you can do with this and the clarity really changes what would be fairly plain footage into something beautiful.
Sir SausageGreat kit for a good price, want them all. Real nice results with a 5DMKIII. Solid build.
KRJA truly great lens! Used on a Canon 5D Mk IIIThe build is firm and feels solid even though its exterior casing is mostly made of plastic. The focus ring is huge, meaning no fiddling around especially in 'run and gun' type situations. Full manual aperture control on the lens takes a bit of getting used to if your used to changing aperture settings in camera but becomes a convenient method once you are familiar with using it.Imagine quality is great. Very sharp and isn't as contrasty as you'd find on say a Canon branded lens. Focal length is brilliant, looks wide whilst retaining a mid range feel - most likely from the lenses lack of distortion in the corners of the frame (full frame sensor) which is superb. Very minimal vignette in the edges of the frame but if anything I enjoy it as it compliments my shooting style. Used mostly for video but still use it for stills, just lacks the autofocus etc but is easy enough to manually focus, the lens isn't designed for stills so what you gonna do?Overall, a superb lens for the price. As far as 'budget' full manual video lenses go - I'd choose this over the much more expensive Canon L series any day. Will be buying Samyang again!

Love it. I needed a lens which gave me space to film indoors and this fit the bill well by its price, build quality and reputation. Excellent purchase.
ManWithThePlanFor the price ...it is ok.
N-SpykThe Samyang 24mm T1.5 Lens was developed primarily for film and video applications. The cine version of Samyang's 24mm lens features industry-standard gearing for the focus and aperture ring, and the aperture ring has been "declicked" for smooth iris pulls. The aperture and focus scales have also been relocated to the side of the lens, where it is easier for focus pullers to read them.
The Samyang 24mm cine lens is compatible with full-frame sensors. APS-C sensors with a crop factor of 1.5 - 1.6 will exhibit a 35mm equivalent angle-of-view equal to approximately 38mm. The optical construction is comprised of 13 lenses arranged in 12 groups. Four lenses are low-dispersion glass (ED), plus two aspheric elements. The 24mm features Ultra Multi Coated (UMC) lenses for improved light transmission and resistance to ghosting and flares.
