10mm Sanyang XP not for 360
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This lens is well made and well presented with end caps and a soft bag to protect it.I am returning it as it does not improve my panorama making. With the Nikon 10.5 fisheye I can capture the whole sphere around my viewpoint in 4 shots with the camera in portrait mode. With the 10mm XP I have to shoot 6 round + nadir & zenith, the same technique I use with the Nikon 16mm. When stitched the 10mm produces a equirectangular image 15.354 x 7677 pixels while the 16mm gives me 22,485 x 11243 for the same amount of work.I’m sure the XP will be very useful for non spherical shots but not for 360º, where the 16mm produces better results and is lighter, smaller and far cheaper.JL

Record: 10 mm focal length with f/3. 5 to Full Format This is the world's first lens with f/3. 5 very bright focal length of 10 mm for full-frame cameras without fisheye effect: Straight lines remain straight, even at the outermost edges of the image. Samyang XP 10 mm F3. 5 is a high performance manual lens, optimised and designed for the latest DSLR cameras The lens is designed for cameras with a 35mm full-screen sensor to enable crystal clear photo and video recording. It is the brightest lens of its kind and is perfectly suited for the latest DSLR and DSLR cameras with a high pixel count. The excellent optical resolution of the lens allows photos of over 50 megapixels and allows you to capture in 8 K. Enormous width and depth of field The lens has an exceptionally short focal length. With a closest focusing distance of just 26 cm, the wide-angle lens can be focused manually and is particularly suitable for sharp and high-contrast images from short distances. Thanks to the good light intensity of 1:3. 5 are also possible in poor lighting conditions. High pixel count for excellent optical functionality The outstanding image performance is due to the sophisticated optical system. This consists of 11 groups with 18 lenses and sets standards. Especially to mention are the three aspherical lenses, three ED lenses and one HR lens. The aspherical lenses (ASP) minimise image errors by reducing unwanted light diffusion. The ED (extra-low distortion) lenses prevent chromatic aberrations. The HR (high refractive) lens optimises the beam transmission and thus ensures a clear and bright image. With these co-ordinated high-precision aspherical and high-breaking lenses, the various possible image errors are minimized and creates a clear image.
