This has an impressive zoom range on it and to the untrained eye, it takes decent photos. However, I have noticed, that compared to my Canon lenses, it takes softer photos, which means some detail will get a bit left out. I've taken two photos, one with a Canon 55-250mm at 55m (the left hand side) and the other with this lens at 55mm (the right hand side). All other settings were the same. You can see how the writing on the boxes is unreadable and the pattern on the box is less defined in the Tamron photo. I found that in the end, I couldn't really take that much hit in quality and I got rid of this lens and replaced it with the Canon 28-200mm. Yes, it's more expensive and has a slightly less zoom range, but the increase in quality is well worth it.
