Unless bought at a discount (I'd been lucky and got about 66% off) it is a bit expensive compared to other 'solar' powered thermometers - but they need to be bought via China/Japan and you can't be really sure what you'll end up with.

PhilThe Smart Effects Technoline WS 7007 Temperature and Humidity guage is solar as well as battery powered. The indoor temperature display can be either C or F, and there is a humidity display also. The unit measures the minimum and maximum temperatures and humidity over a given time period, and their is a feel good factor indicator. The unit can be wall mounted or table standing.
