Probably my last Pentax camera
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

£1,603 for the camera and 28-105mm lens, so very good value but ultimately I'm a bit disappointed with the camera and very much so with Pentax.

It takes excellent pictures mostly, but the white balance issues are not exaggerated. Even with 'extreme' speed cards, it can be quite slow in taking multiple shots and can 'lock up'.

It's heavy but I found the battery life to be pretty good contrary to some online reviews, though I don't use the wifi, etc.

The bad of this is twice it somehow entered 'remote control' mode (I don't have one) and rather than taking shots a red light flashed and it would beep.

To clear this, resetting the camera and removing the battery for a few minutes does the trick which I found on the internet later (taking the battery out only may sort but I'd done both), it's not in the troubleshooting and this appears to be an issue in numerous earlier cameras, though wasn't with my K3-ii.

The first time I cleared this myself somehow (changing the battery several times may have done the trick - the 'switch it off and back on again approach'!), the second time I'd travelled to Blackpool Zoo and couldn't for the life of me get it to work (resetting and taking the battery out...) so I contacted Amazon who tried to help but ultimately passed the query on to Pentax, who didn't bother to respond.

I'd bought my earlier Pentax on the full compatibility of the K lenses and thinking this meant the customer mattered to them

More than likely my next camera will be a Sony and I'd suggest if like me you owned an APS-C and were looking to go Full Frame you consider looking elsewhere.
