As an intermediary camera this is very good I use it for wild life and macro photography and are pleased with the results. It great that it can take my ef lenses as well as the ef-s lenses. I keep my full frame for landscape mainly and the crop sensor for my macro. Good piece of kit.
dexter luminolWe’ve had this a couple of weeks now. It’s lighter than I thought it would be which is great. It was my upgrade from a basic DSLR. Still experimenting with it but I’m pleased with the various settings/functions so far.
ElicatdunIt's a brilliant camera and easy to use
Nicola BrightonI have only had my Canon 90D a few days, I am absolutely loving it so far. Lots to learn, the touch screen is brilliant. Rather heavy carrying on a 4 hour walk compared to a phone.
MPerfect ????????
GigaHmmm...beware of warehouse items. This was supposed to have only a damaged box. The item failed to switch on properly and on close inspection there were slight signs it had been opened and then I noticed the smears on the camera mirror as the photo shows.Update.It also took nearly 3 weeks to get a refund!
Anne Mole ; Andrew MoleNice little camera
AndyThis is a big leap up from my previous model (100d), I went for the 90d as it maintained the usefulness of my EF-S lenses and has all the features I wanted from an upgrade plus a few more I could grow into.I'm primarily a stills photographer, not so interested in video, so the things that caught my eye (bearing in mind the model I was coming from) were the 32.5 megapixel sensor, 45-point AF, intelligent tracking, the vari-angle touchscreen - just generally all the increased quality over my old APSC model whilst retaining the familiar Canon feel (and lenses!). Additionally I was interested in one or two of the extra features such as focus bracketing (for which I've been having some success with lenses that aren't officially supported). If I already had an 80d it probably wouldn't have been worth the upgrade to me, but given that I was coming from something much further down the chain the 90d seemed spot on to last me for years to come. All in all this is a fantastic piece of kit.
RichUPDATE … I forgot to add this..... if any none canon users try to download the software you wont get it because you have to enter the serial number on the base of your camera. After years of using rubbish I finally got one of these to use in my retirement. If you are fortunate enough to be able to afford one of these you wont be disappointed. After purchase go to canons website and download the software program. Use the convert/save tab to reduce memory size or you will have a lot of problems posting or emailing photos as they average 12mb each. Tick resize and choose say 1600 x 1200.Only a couple of niggles , when you take the camera out of whatever bag you put it in check the position of the photo/video switch , a couple of times I have caught mine taking it out of the bag and accidently moved it to video. You could miss a rushed photo because you did not notice you caught the switch.Looking in the different menus you will see items are labeled enable or disable , my personal opinion is that they should say enabled or disabled , so if it says enable for something it is already on.
MJS WARLORDThis camera is wonderful, a big upgrade in most parts from my well used EOS 7D MKII - this picture quality is fantastic, as is the 4k video mode. The ability to send all files to the PC's over wi-fi is a great benefit. There are many pluses to owning this camera. The one downside is there is no GPS built-in which I find quite shocking in 2020 and on such a high tech camera. It was nearly a deal-breaker for me but I thought I could buy an add-on cheaply, but they are around £200 - £300 which is not good.Come on Canon, all DSLR's should have GPS built-in!
Steve ProcterWorks very well huge improvement over the 80D it's well worth the price. Comfy to hold although markedly heavier then 80d it's well balanced
Kevin L.Firstly I must say that I bought my camera locally, for the simple reason that they offer a two year warranty. I bought this as an upgrade from my trusty Canon 70D, which I absolutely love. The only reason I upgraded was the extra pixels, which should come in handy as I am into macro; and as my 70D is 6 years old I was expecting some improvement in image quality due to being a much newer sensor. My initial impressions were good - I love the sound of the shutter, and landscapes looked nice and clear with good colour. The problem came when I did more close up shots. Birds were not quite sharp, and textural detail was 'mushy', and not clearly defined. I persevered and compared it with my 70D - which I decided not to trade in, as I believed it was a great example of the model, and should I decide to return I might not get one as good. It was certainly not better, and in a lot of close up images, worse. On scouring the internet I found that others had encountered very similar problems, so I decided to take it back to the shop for their thoughts. They were very good, and offered to return it to Canon for checking over. A week later I got an email from Canon saying 'CMOS sensor / colour / white balance all calibrated to Canon standard'. I contacted the shop, it had been returned and I collected it. I was surprised to find it was like a totally different camera. I now get much better images - sharp, with good detail. I have attached one of my macro of a 5p piece on which you can see the Queen's eyelashes, so that's sharp enough for me. It was taken on a tripod, but with no fancy lighting or Photoshopping apart from a crop. So if you have bought one of these cameras and are at all dissatisfied with it's performance, return it like I did. There was no charge and I really like it now.
BenjisdadWould probably have been better to have been fitted with dual memory card slots.
Paul AustinGreat camera not to heavy and good results so far.
Amazon CustomerThis is probably one of the best cameras that you are going to buy. It will take an age to learn all of the menus that it holds but I love it.
Mr. Steven J. CorbettI bought the Canon 90D primarily for wildlife photography for use with Canon 100-400mm EF L zoom lens.Already owning the 70D + 80D, I had no problem adjusting to the upgrades in the 90D.The spot focus is a great addition for use in precise focusing for wildlife shots and the additional pixels, now a 32.5Mp sensor, allow for grater cropping as can be the case especially when photographing small birds and mammals.I've never been disappointed with my previous Canons and this one is no exception.
K. SweetReturned due to focus issue.
David O.I couldn't decide between the Canon 5D or the 7D then Canon launched the 90D. The 90D covered everything I wanted from a camera and I haven't been disappointed. Worth every penny.
TurnerWow, Just Wow this camera is perfect. I wanted to upgrade from my Canon 80d DLSR.Note: You can now have 4k @ 24fps via a new firmware update v1.1.Video recording is limited to 30min but this is normal for this type of camera and is on all at this price range as there is a restriction imposed on them in the UK. you can't remove this limitation but you can just work around it.This camera takes some fantastic pictures with minimal effort using the Auto function or as I prefer you can dial in the settings using the Manual mode and custom profiles. I'm now getting used to this camera, and now I’m starting to capture some awesome pictures. Is the new ASPC better than the Canon 80d yes in my option this is certainly a decent upgrade. The key things that stand out for me are:-Interchangeable lensAwesome Video auto focusDecent battery lifeGreat screen that's able to flip so if you are looking at the camera head-on you can see if you are in the shot.4k 30fps1080 60fpsWhat I’m not a fan off4k 30fps I would have preferred 60fpsWeight if travellingThat's it, one very, very good camera perfect for pictures but also excellent for video with that exceptional auto focus.
BobThe EOS 90D is a DSLR with a 32.5 megapixel APS-C sensor that delivers superb image quality and extends the effective reach of telephoto lenses. Add in 45-point AF points, 10fps shooting and a multi-control dial and you have a powerful cam-era for wildlife and sports photography.
