Great little Camera to bring everywhere!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Great little camera which complements a DSLR, etc nicely. Really compact and light. Picture quality is excellent and the camera has enough resolution in my opinion. It's very discrete, great for street photography and one can get closer if the wide angle lens is not enough for the subject. It also has a decent macro mode. Couldn't be happier with this camera!

This camera is the perfect pick up and go Machine.Perfect for anyone looking to transition between 35mm shooting and digital. The freedom you get from “lack of a view finder is amazing. Just an all round outstanding camera if you’re looking to step up your social media game, or create a little zine.

Pretty much a repeat on all the other positive reviews
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Having not much experience with cameras, only playing a tiny bit with the girlfriends dslr, I knew I wanted something small and discreet enough to fit into a pocket / small bag to carry at all times otherwise I know I'd never use it. This is great. I love it. Sick.Having looked through images other people had taken across various cameras I knew this was it. Wasn't disappointed when it arrived. Attached are the images I've taken within the first two weeks of owning the camera. Really like the colours it picks up, and maybe this won't suit everyone but I also love the noise it can create especially in the black and white shots. Really adds character. (Note I've turned noise reduction off).I've mostly been doing really quick discreet shots, this camera isn't silent but it's definitely not loud enough to draw much attention and I love not having a lense cap to remove so the whole process is really quick. The only thing I'm struggling with is night shots, too much noise / having trouble focusing (this is on me as I never stay in one place long enough and don't like the ISO being too high) but I haven't experimented enough with the settings to accurately comment on this, I've seen some great night shots taken by other people.Occasionally I miss having a zoom but it's a tiny sacrifice to make for having such a great camera in this little package. There's other creative ways around getting the required shots.Great that it has WiFi so I can immediately share the images I've taken and there's apps out there that allow you to remotely view the camera screen and take images via your phone which I find better than using a timer.Would definitely recommend.Bought second hand, really great prices with the gr iii having been released, I wouldn't even be against paying the full price.

Quality, Compact And Great Usability - the camera I always have with me
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Briefly the standout points for me are:

Quality - the lens and APS-C sensor produce outstanding photos. Excellent quality JPGs in camera and also provides DNG raw files with the ability to perform some post raw processing in camera. However I tend to find that the JPGs tend to be plenty good enough most of the time. The lens is fixed focal length at 28mm (35mm equivalent) but I personally tend to prefer this over a lesser quality zoom lens.

Ergonomics - the camera is lightweight, holds/grips easy in the hand (I always thought the RX100 that I previously owned was particularly poor in this department), and the controls are fantastic - quick to adjust settings and easy to customise.

Pocketable - the camera is large enough to be ergonomic in the hand whilst small enough to fit in the pocket. As they say, the best camera is the one you have with you.

Overall I am extremely pleased with this camera. It is a camera that I am happy enough to carry around with me, provides the controllability over exposure that an SLR type camera gives you and the images are great.

Destroys Smartphone Cameras
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

To the reviewer who compared this camera to a smartphone mentioning megapixels and number of lenses - you forgot the single most significant difference between this camera and any smartphone camera - the sensor - which is about 8 times the size of the one in your smartphone!

This camera is capable of taking absolutely superb professional grade photos. The lens is also one of the sharpest you can find on any camera or amongst any prime lens. Combine all of this with a leaf shutter and tiny proportions of the camera as a whole and you have something that leaves any smartphone camera in the dust.

What can be said about the Ricoh GR II that hasn't already been said so beautifully in professional and semi-professional reviewers across the web? Who knows, but I will try to put my own spin on it as it relates to my style of photography.I'll do a brief recap so you can see where I'm coming from as a snapper. When I was a kid I was the proud owner of an old late 1980s 35mm instamatic camera with a flash that needed to be held down by rubber bands to stop it from popping up and dousing every shot. I went through dozens of rolls of film and then basically gave up for years, a hobby that fell by the wayside as I got into playing guitar and tinkering with technology of all kinds.Even when smartphones began to emerge and offer so-so quality cameras, I was never bowled over by what I got and it never rekindled the interest. I suppose owning a HTC One M8 for years, a great phone hampered by a substandard camera that hated low light, didn't help much. Then I got a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, put it into Pro mode and took my girlfriend and her dog out walking in a local nature spot near a pretty pond. I managed to capture several lovely shots all manually, including the one that finally made me realise I needed a proper camera. It was in a wooded area with the dog (small Jack Russell terrier) standing on a fallen bark and my girlfriend crouching over the top. I got the composition, lighting, tones and focus just how I wanted and realised I needed something with physical controls to be able to adjust ISO, f-stops and shutter speed more quicker rather than being hamstrung by an inaccurate touchscreen interface.A family member/close friend of mine recommended two cameras - the Fujifilm X100 and the Ricoh GR II. He sent a few YouTube links to reviews of both and for me, there was a quality and warmth and uniqueness to the shots that Mattias Burling took and described in his comparison video that grabbed me. As a birthday present, when I stated my choice the same family member/close friend offered to put in half the cost of one w

A real versitile camera! Not just for street phtography!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I have now had this camera for over a year now and taken it with me to several countries and I have had no problems with it so far.
The camera is obviously a well known street photography camera but is also gaining a following for travel photography as well due to its size and power, quality and versatility and simply this is why I bought it.
I have used for general street photography in every city I have travelled to, snap focus, sharp lens and saved settings make this an amazing piece of kit! Moreover, I have used it for landscape photography where this camera really excels due to its sharp lens and wonderful colors!
The adapter allows you to add filters, this is very important if you need an ND filter for slow exposure shots and of course a high quality circular polarizer ( a must have!) which will make your photos excel taking away UV reflections which makes sky's rich blue, folage lush and green and takes away reflections on water, this is where camera phones fail because this cannot ever be done by digital means and post production software cannot match the results.
The GW -3 wide angle lens, as accessory, makes the lens go from full frame equivalent 28mm to 21mm this is super useful for landscapes but even better for indoor shots when you visit beautiful basilicas or stunning buildings during your travels because get a lot more of the room than your conventional cameras.
I also went to the effort tot get a step down ring and found an old telephoto lens made for the Ricoh Digital product line to allow me change from 28 mm to an equivalent 50mm lens for portrait photography and the results are amazing!
People have complained in numerous reviews on here and on the web about getting dust on the sensor, the truth is the vast majority of cameras will get dust on their sensors if you do not mitigate this happening. Simply if you keep the camera in a dust free case like a Peli hard case when not is use or travelling, or keep in small secure pouch in your day bag then you will be fine, just use c

Stealth, Usability and effectivity...A camera to re-discover the photographer in you...
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

If you are a street Photographer look no further..This is the camera for you. I was blown away by this little beast's power, usability and effectivity. It is the stealth camera that people will hardly notice in your hand( rather care...). That opens up immense possibility for the photographer to take candid and even in your face photographs of strangers in the street without them even blinking an eye. The best part of this camera is the snap mode focussing, where you can pre-focus at a distance of 1m, 1.5m, 2.5m, 5m or Infinity... This makes the camera even more effective as you can prejudge the scene and click the picture as soon as you estimate the focus distance is reached or about to reach. The picture quality is also very sharp and for what it is, absolutely does the job. I can guarantee that you won't be able to take the same kind of pictures with any other DSLRs in the market due to the sheer degree of freedom this camera provides which beats the best in the business by a mile. Although very small and non attractive ( attention drawing) this camera is built like a tank. the body is magnesium alloy and every inch gives you the feel of a solid rock in hand....The modern day DSLRs are far far better technically and may be the pixel peepers dream but this camera blows all of them away by its sheer usability and stealth looks. You tend to end up taking very natural candid pictures without drawing too much attention on to yourself and the people in the street do not even care to give you a glance even if you take it to their face and click it. I must say I have re-discovered the new photographer in me with this tool in my hand. I tend to worry less as to what others would think( as they hardly care..) and I get more confidence with the camera taking pictures in the street without raising any eyebrows....There is still no alternative to this as a street camera ...So if you fancy the streets this is a must have in your bag!
