Who could believe that? I bought this lens after reading a couple of reviews, because I was missing manual focus lenses since I left Sony. It's become my day-to-day walkaround lens and I tend to leave the autofocus Fuji lenses at home.
It not super crazy sharp, but good enough. It's not as well built as the more prestigious brands, the infinity focus is a joke, but we'll, I don't know why I love it. It's fun to use, it performs well in most conditions, it's light and compact, it has something something special. A soul.
For the price it costs, just give it a go if manual focus doesn't repulse you. You will feel photography again.

Really impressed with this lens. The quality for the price is worth the purchase. I'm only a novice, but from what I can tell it's excellent. It's a solid unit. The focus and apature ring is smooth, but no no clicks for the apature which is a small annoyance. Also when using back button focusing for astro photos, the infinity marking isn't accurate, but hey just use your eyes!

It works well on my Fuji A5 and seems to take good photos. Easy to adjust focus manually.
Never had the expensive lens so can't tell the difference anyway!

I can take different types photos compared to f3.5 lens.
However, it's made of metal (seems very strong) so a lot heavier than the kit zoom lens made in plastic even though it's a compact prime lens. I thought it would be a good idea to take a compact prime lens on travel, but I might leave it at home and take the kit lens instead...
The lens is heavier than the body itself as well, so need to watch out especially on tripod - it keeps falling towards front due to the balance...
