quality for the price
botatoeSharp as a tack great build guilty. All a round good lens. Feels like lens from Canon L but at half the cost
ElvisCVery good value for not a bad lens, but I don't think it requires another twelve words before I can submit
Mike JamesIf your half-way serious about shooting video with your DSLR and don't have a big budget, this lens really does live up to the hype.Sharp enough for web content,( maybe not good enough if your footage is going to be on a 40ft cinema screen ), and perfectly good for the kind of jobs anyone without funding will be doing. The smooth iris control is a joy - you won't want to go back to hard stop lenses after you try this. Two caveats - First , if you have a follow focus, the lens may not be long enough to reach the gear wheel. I have a cheap FF, but could change the side the gear wheel mounts on, so its worth checking if this is important to you.Really, its a small gripe for what you get with the lens.Second - As with using old lenses that don't have a chip that your fancy new EOS body can " talk " to, this lens requires you to press the shoot button when connected because the camera body will question if you have a lens attached.Again, a minor point - just make sure you set the sleep mode on your camera to " off ", or you'll have to keep resetting when the camera shuts off.If you've been shooting DSLR video with a variety of lenses, all these are minor quirks, with work - arounds that you'll be used to.The image quality is great on both my 7D and 5D mk 3 - particularly rich on the full frame. When the budget allows, I'll be back for the 35mm and the rumoured release of the 50 mm sometime this year.

The lens is of a high-quality design. The metal housing is very robust and convinces with its noble optical appearance. The glass lenses of the lens are coated and thus ensure a brilliant contrast and sharpness range as well as a well-rounded colour balance. The particularly high-quality optics of the lens ensures optimal image results. The lens hood prevents lateral incident stray light and lens reflections.
