Not world-shattering but decent for the price

I found the ring is not as smooth as i expected. and it's all very basic. but it does the job and the flares are pretty nice.

Developed for photography and videography This fish eye from Walimex Pro was developed for use in photography and videography. The aperture can be continuously adjusted from 3.8 to 22, and the focus is adjusted softly and smoothly. Therefore soft tracking of the focus is possible on video recordings. The aperture ring and focus ring are fitted with a sprocket and thus for use with follow focus systems, optimized and specialised for filming with DSLRs. For good legibility, the distance and aperture scale are arranged laterally. The fish eye lens by Walimex Pro facilitates a whole view of things. There are no limits set to creativity thanks to the unusual perspective. Due to the exceptional depth of field and the extremely wide picture angle of the adventurous videographer and photographer all options are open. The Walimex Pro fish eye has a focal length of only 8mm. At a minimum distance of 30cm, exciting wide angle pictures can already be captured in brilliant sharpness. The high light intensity of 1:3.8 allows excellent photographs even in less favourable lighting conditions. developed specifically for photography and videography with a focal length of 8mm and a light intensity of 1:3.8 with a detachable lens hood manual exposure and focusing high quality in optic and mechanic coated glass lenses Example of useLarge display Example of useLarge display With the Walimex Pro fish eye, videographers receive various design options, especially with spherical panoramas. Straight lines which are not positioned in the middle of the picture will be shown curved and the distortion is greatly barrel-shaped. This particular lens type has a particularly short focal length for its image format size, which is why the image is displayed with curved forms. That is how photographs, which are created with the Walimex Pro fish eye, receive their typical spherical distorted perspective. The manufacture of the lens is high quality. The metal casing is very sturdy and impressive with its sophisticated lens. The glass lenses of the lens are coated, thus ensuring a brilliant contrast and sharpness range and a balanced colour. The high quality optics of the lens ensures optimal image results. A fixed obstruction lens hood prevents stray light and lens reflections from entering on the sides. When using the lens on cameras with full-sized format sensors, one should note that a partial shading (vignetting) appears. Here, the image should be cut by post-processing to obtain a filled image format and to remove interfering frame. For sample photos, see the note on examples of use.
