Cooling for Surface-Pro
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

It has become apparent during lockdown that the Surface-Pro has an issue with overheating, causing screen shudder after long periods turned on, especially if the camera is used. (Not great if you are a teacher doing online lessons), however, this little fan pointed at the back of the screen seems to be working. 4 days now and no shudder! Not silent, but pretty close.

Just what I needed
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This little fan is heavier than I expected, much more robust and not a flimsy effort. As for performance, excellent for it's size. If you want the power of a desktop fan then you are probably going to have to buy a desktop fan, but I have been using mini fans for years and this is my favourite so far because it occupies less space in laptop bag. Been in constant use daily for the last month, dropped numerous times, bumped into by the dog a few times and none the worse for wear. What is missing is a base to stand this in that could be sold as an extra, there is already a fixed-to-base model, how about a detachable base model

I'm a big fan!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Love this little fan! It's effectively a computer cooling fan, but on a flexible USB stalk, which is a genius idea - computer fans are made to be on for hours or even days at a time without trouble, and they have developed over the last decade to not only be very effective at cooling but also really quiet, and that noise level is the absolute best thing about this.Your traditional travel fan sounds like a swarm of angry wasps and skids around the table like an ant. They also tend to have the effectiveness of a drunk daddy long legs trying to blow over a lorry. Not so here. It's perfectly quiet enough to sleep with, has very little vibration, and although it doesn't deliver a hurricane, it does provide a good steady breeze that you can feel from at least 4ft away. The goose neck is great for directing it in exactly where you need it - up, down, diagonally, whatever. I had it connected to a USB power bank on a shelf above the bed and could easily bend it around the edge of the shelf and direct it down on to me.The design is robust. The blades are solid and have a good balanced weight and the motor and rotation is very smooth. The goose neck is the only downside. It is stiff and solid, which is good, but it does stick out a good way from the fan making the whole thing quite long and difficult to pack. It'd be better if you could wrap or coil the neck around the fan in some way so it was more compact. I also feel that the neck is going to be the weakest part, so pack it carefully. My only other (very minor) gripe is that there is no switch to turn it off - you just have to unplug it. A simple on/off switch on the back of the motor, or even better some kind of variable speed controller on the USB plug would really help. For some people, having it USB powered without it's own battery might be a problem, but for me I appreciated that I could plug it in to my power bank and not have to worry about buying batteries etc. The other advantage is that you can use different sizes of power bank and it'll run for longer, or plug i

I bought two of these. One for me and one for my partner to be used in our respective laptops while working. I wasn't expecting much but as desk space is a premium in this house these seemed like an obvious solution. The good: Hardly any power consumption on the laptops, didn't affect the battery life at all really that I could tell. I'm sure it does, obviously. But it seems to draw very little power indeed. The fan is definitely sturdy and well made, the bendy part is nice and strong and doesn't just fall over after 5 minutes. They make hardly any noise at all. Quite remarkable actually. Certainly no louder than the laptop's internal gubbins anyway. The Bad: They just simply aren't powerful enough. I could feel a slight breeze but that's all. Nowhere near strong enough to actually cool you down.So there you go. Quite how this has received so many positive reviews is beyond me, frankly. At first I thought maybe I had a faulty one but since I bought two and they are both equally weak, I'm left with no choice other than to say these aren't fit for purpose.Lesson learned. I'm going to buy a side table and a proper desk fan instead.

Great little fan; quiet & cheap
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

First impressions are surprisingly great here; apparently this is the same Arctic who've been making CPU HSFs for a long time now, and it feels quite well-built and sturdy. It's basically silent; there's a very slight whoosh as it does move a good amount of air, but no whining or screeching from the motor. On the downside, it can be a bit fiddly to get it oriented the way you want it because the fan isn't shrouded. The blades are quite thick plastic, however, and you're not in danger of being cut etc., but it does make adjusting it while it's running fiddly. That aside, this is perfect for an office desktop. It doesn't disturb, blows a good amount of air, and is really inexpensive. You should get one.

Nice little fan
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Plugging this into your laptop USB port won't make you look like Status Quo on stage, hair billowing out behind you (not that I've got hair anymore), but you will get a gentle cooling breeze wafting over your face. The fan is pretty much silent and easy to direct once you pluck up the courage to grab the thing whilst it's spinning (worry not, it won't take your fingers off, a firm pinch front and behind is all that's needed to wrestle control). It's inexpensive, stirs up the atmosphere in a fetid office and fits neatly into my laptop bag. Can't ask for much more than that.

fits in nicely
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Well you know, we all love a free sauna, but occasionally I like to breathe, even when I'm at work. This has been going strong for almost a year. Its slimline and fits back into its package, which is handy as I to shove all my worldly goods in a box every night. It's even white, which helps it blend in with the grey and white blandness I work in. It doesn't chop your fingers off it you catch them in the blades, so no trips to A&E. It doesn't even hurt, so you can't even get to lie down in first aid for half an hour.

It broke in under a week
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I used this handy little fan for almost week. While it's not very powerful (as is to be expected for a fan of this size), there was enough of a breeze to stop me from overheating during a hot spell. Unfortunately, after just 4 days of use it stopped working. Closer inspection revealed that there was a split near the base of the USB plug. This fan is designed to be flexible and easy to reposition so I would have expected this area to have been better reinforced. Disappointing seeing as there were cheaper options I could have chosen as a throwaway device.

Nice and Chilly
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I bought this on 19 Oct 2013. It's now just over two years and this Arctic Breeze Mobile 92mm USB Fan (not the hub kind) is still going. I've used it a lot to help cool down my PC. Unfortunately now after two years, it's starting to slow down from the amount of power - telling me it may be soon about to fail. I am not sure how long these are supposed to last, but I'll say it's had a fair run.I used it on my small form factor PC that I took a panel off my to allow better airflow. I never used the fan on laptops. The fan would bring the maximum temp down by 10 degrees Celsius - at the most. Don't expect miracles, but it all helps. Also in the summer, it helps to cool you down. It's not so nice in the winter to cool the PC down though! Chilly bones! My only gripe, is I wish the metal 'stem' of the fan was a little longer (almost double the length it is now) as for a PC it's quite short. If it was longer it would allow almost direct contact, and would provide more cooling. The 'stem' itself is fantastic, I love this design as the fan can be placed in awkward places where a free standing fan wouldn't reach.

10/10. I love having a beautiful breeze on my face.

This fan is everything that I wanted and more.I have to sleep with one of those big oscillating fans on 3 to sleep comfortably and my girlfriend hates it. She hates having to sleep in my bedroom because I want my beautiful fan blasting cool air on my face all night long. She did not appreciate my driving over to her house and bringing my lovely massive fan with me every time and I decided that I would compromise! I had read about these USB fans. I saw one of them in a major stationary chain and thought "oooooh, I don't want it to be encaged in a little box where I can't angle it... I WANT MASSIVE FREEDOM!"THIS FAN IS MASSIVE FREEDOM. Though the length of the neck might not seem much, it is perfectly adequate to get the giant angle which you need. As I lie here on my front on the couch, this majestic creation is aimed directly at my face at a beautiful jaunty angle. I am as cool as a cucumber. I have repeatedly tried putting my fingers in the way of it to slow it down and it hasn't seen any signs of breaking or stopping.I haven't seen any signs of it draining any major battery power from my 2011 Macbook Pro either. It just hangs out, being a portable, convenient, beautiful, gentle breeze which is as quiet as a ghost's whisper.EDIT: I discovered that I can plug this into a one of those external battery power banks that are all the crazy lately and it works all night long. It now sits on the window sill at my girlfriend's beside her bed where it blasts elegantly over my slumbering head. It's the best.
