Not good.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This laptop is amazing for gaming MOST OF THE TIME, the laptop tries to save power by switching between the integrated graphics and the gpu which can be frustrating but otherwise it works perfectly. Very good laptop for the money and surprisingly thin and light compared to what people say. Storage isnt good tho but I can confirm there is space for a 2.5 inch hdd or ssd which I would suggest getting as the 256gb ssd has enough room for 3 decently sized games. However after a few more weeks I noticed it is buggy and freezes often which leads to me having to take off the back piece and unplug the battery just so it will re boot. Not worth the buy.

Much lower performance than expected
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I bought this for work and gaming, but was experiencing really low fps in the games I'm usually playing. I have downloaded the passmark benchmark and saw that my graphics card is performing 30% lower than the avarage score of the 1660ti mobile cards... Thats pretty much the same score as a 1650's... I have tried everything, even reinstalled windows, checked every single driver, but nothing. I'm not sure if they are intentionally misleading people or I just got a bad product, but I really expect to have some quality control for a laptop that is this expensive.

TERRIBE EXPERIENCE!!! When it arrived, I had started it up and the monitor wasnt working.I had no other choice but to send it for repair to Amazon. Once I got it back it was working perfectly. However, fast forward a couple of months later, the monitor started blinking randomanly. I did everything I could to handle the issue but it just check happening. As a result, I had to send it back.

NOT Military grade, screen ruined by condensation from using outside for less than 2 hours!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I can not recommend this product or Asus!Performance-wise I have no real complaints, I have had some issues that might be a problem for more novice users, but some tweaking here and there brings the product up to standard.Where I have a real problem is - I used this machine outside on a cold day for a couple of hours and then put away, when I opened to use again the screen had a build-up of condensation underneath the screen. rather than filing a return I contacted Asus customer care and expressed concerns about the return as I was worried it would be deemed water damaged which could potentially void the warranty. I was met by a very rude customer service agent who completely ignored my concerns and instead became defensive and argumentative. When I complained about their inability to address my concerns they came told me to write to head office and complain! none of my concerns were answered, and I dare not send it back for them to charge me for delivery and a new screen when I could simply open it and dry it out but voiding the warranty in the process. So now I am stuck with a delicate and cheaply built machine that's no more military-grade than the box it came in. This was my first Asus purchase in about 12 years after giving them a wide birth for a similar experience when I paid £150 for a motherboard that died within a month and took other components with it! I will never buy ASUS ever again! However, if you never plan on using this device anywhere other than your front room, you should be ok lol. Asus to me stand next to apple. Avoid avoid avoid!

The display is flickeringEverything is great about this laptop except the screen flickering issue i’m facing right now. I have tried many things like1.Steps that ASUS has provided on its website to remove flickering.2Installed the driver from Manufacture as well as from AMD website.3.Few other things that I googledNone of the above steps solved the problem.

Doesn't run how it should
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I bought this product to play games on... However I was severely disappointed with how it preformed. It would barely run any game on minimum settings. I had it sent for repairs and it still didn't improve in its ability to run games like counter strike. Would not recommend.

Great, if not marred by design choices.

Sturdy, great looking, comfortable keyboard, decent viewing angles, RGB, bluetooth - what more could a guy ask for?As it turns out, quite a bit.The trackpad misreads inputs, the clicks arent's separated so unless you select the right click in the bottom right correctly, you left click which you can imagine is infuriating. The keyboard feels like rubber domes as you require enough pressure to actuate the keys, but then it just drops without linear travel at all. This can leave you feeling as though you have pressed a key when you haven't the only way i can think of circumventing this as a user is to either A - type slow, or B - bottom out so that you're always pressing heavily. Not ideal. As others have commented this laptop has software issues, primarily as a conflict between the 3550h graphical side and the 1650 as a dedicated gpu.Basically, they either try to work in tandem and crash, or one tries to work over the other and forces a crash. The main difference between the two is that the 3550h is forced and cannot be changed from being set as the systems display output. This means that you're left leaving the 3550h to the screen and the 1650 to be set manually through software such as the geforce experience as the hardware accelerant. This has resolved crashing for me, but it should work out the box.For those interested, the fix is downloading and making sure geforce experience is running. Then opening the NVIDIA control panel and under 'Manage 3d settings' set the Preferred graphics processor from 'Auto' to 'High performance NVIDIA processor'Then under 'Set PhysX configuration' and 'Select a PhysX processor' set it to 'Geforce GTX 1650'.Now that it doesnt crash it's working beautifully, the hardware is compelling for this price range. But if you're not tech savvy it's best to avoid altogether as you can find more complete works from other vendors, or even just buy a decent dekstop system for this price.

My biggest regret
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This laptop is a mess... I bought it 3 months ago and i delayed writing a review because i was actually trying to give it a go. But I cant do this anymore, the laptop was sold not optimized: the bios is outdated by 18 month and when i try to update it, it crashes. The WIFI disconnects on its own and the updates won't go through correctly. I invested 1.1k into something that didn't last 1 month without issue ... utterly pissed off right now. As ASUS customer service is not open today or tomorrow ????? I should not have left Alienware ... maybe they are overpriced but at least they can build deviced that actually WORK properly!

Nice machine but several software issues.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The notebook itself is pretty good for under £650 and should perform well, if it were not for several software issues. The My Asus app doesn't work; only offering very basic functionality and insisting on updates every time it's opened. The AMD display optimization app can't find its driver, although AMD's downloaded driver check and installation tool says the latest drivers are installed. Windows Device Manager can find up to date drivers as well. There were also dll error messages.Given that it is a bank holiday weekend I used the Amazon technical support option. The only help available from the chap who described himself as an "expert" was too search for AMD Ryzen driver updates. Looks like I'll be waiting until Tuesday or later for an online response from Asus, or to use the telephone support line. A new gaming laptop should be a source of joy, not disappointment and frustration.Initial configuration was simple and took just over 30 minutes, which is impressive given my slow 12 mps broadband. There is a fair bit of bloatware on this machine, but uninstalling most if it, and unpinning the rest, is easy enough. However, until software issues are resolved this won't be a useful gaming laptop, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with only basic ability in its present state.
