Great kettle - light up “tank” allows you to easily see when it’s on/ boiling. Does need to be de-scaled regularly as looks dreary as you can see limescale build up, but a quick de-scale job - I do every couple of weeks. ...just seem to get a limescale white/grey line around the lid and spout which is a little stubborn - otherwise a great kettle. Note: on my third now as previous 2 have both blown a fuse after 14 months.... but they both had a lot of use.
HappyCustomersteam leak s around lid. not safe
teddieIt’s ok.Still need lots of improvements.
RamThis kettle seemed very bulky and heavy. It also had a leaking lid so returned.
misspthe look is lovely and boiling speed fast. however, after the first day and approximately 4 uses, it started to get rust on the bottom - the inside of the kettle took it back for a replacement. however, if it happens again, I will want a refund
FatsAvoid like the plague. I bought one of these but within 18 months the lid fell of when pouring covering everything in scalding water; fortunately not me. I contacted Russell Hobbs who told me that despite the on-line reports from other people saying the same thing had happened to them, this product was not subject to a recall.Clearly a design/manufacturing flaw and Russell Hobbs graciously offered me a discount of 40% off any other kettle listed on their web-site.Very sleazy response when you consider that their on line RRP is nearly double that listed on other sites so be prepared to throw Russell Hobbs products away the day after the warranty expires. Clearly their response to faulty and dangerous products.
P SMITHThis item has a very small spout and filter which furred up very quickly causing boiling water to splash out around the lid. A poor buy.
mikebeeThe kettle looks lovely and the blue light, when boiling, matches my kitchen. However, even in an area that doesn’t have hard water, the deposits start to build up on the base and on the sides and it very soon looks unsightly. These deposits can be removed with a bit of work but life is too short to be cleaning the kettle all the time. I wouldn’t buy another glass kettle.
NickyIt looks great in ads pictures, however with tab water you may witness white particles boil inside along with the water, so you may loose your interest towards drinking your tegular hot drinks
ShawnLight on my kettle doesn’t light up every time I switch it on Not happy Have only had it 3 weeks
UnhappyWe are on our second kettle in a year as the first blew the house fuses, this replacement has now blown the plug fuse again - now three times. The problem is steam coming out of the power switch - water and electric doesn't mix. We will take this back to the store and will choose something else. We really liked the features but its no good when the kettle keeps going bang!
WESTWINGLooks good in picture but when I got it out of the box it lacked style and seemed cheap, so I took it back for a refund.
SRIThe kettle looks great but I find it very noisy. If you have enough water in to make a cuppa its fine but if boiling whilst full its incredibly shaky on its stand. I went with this as my last Russell Hobbs kettle lasted 10 years with very heavy use but this kettle is nowhere near as good as the last . Disappointed with my angry kettle
Tara44Worked fine for a few days, before blowing the mains fuse, and tripping mains board. Took it back for a refund. Also, when it worked , the lid did not open fully when button pressed.
MickFound kettle to be a bit bulky. Steamed up and stayed steamed up even when cold so returned it for a refund
BarneyLooks great, but... Incredibly loud when boiling. Spout is too small so doesn't pour quickly enough - water comes out of the lid too. Flimsy lid does not stay tightly closed. After two weeks the base and glass are coated in scale, so not recommended for a hard water area. The discount code for the descaler printed on the box is rejected by the Russell Hobbs website and they have not answered my email. Relatively expensive, so I can't recommend it. I would buy a cheaper traditional model.
JoeA little problem with the off on switch. this seems to flip off from time to time. There is also a little water dripping from under the off/on switch.
BusymumLike that is glass which is why I bought it!
Sjc1973Fantastic looking kettle. Very pretty when it lights up. The filter is very small and I was very disappointed to find that limescale had heavily built up in less then 10 days. Would not recommend to anyone living in a hard water area. Expensive ( £49.95 ) for a kettle which I will have to replace within a few months
Tracyrob4711Very nice design and boils water fast, although mine had a leak around the top black seal. fully refunded
