The switch on the kettle started to play up 16 months after I purchased this kettle and now doesn't work ago. More landfill. I am appalled at how many appliances just do not stand the test of time or even a few years for that matter. Not good from a supposedly reliable brand and the product help button to contact the manufacturer on Amazon doesn't work either.
Heather T-SEasy to fill and operate, doesn’t come out of the lid like a jug kettle. A robust machine which is fairly quiet and quick to boil. Happy to recommend if you want a traditional style kettle
SpeeroWhen I unpacked this kettle, I liked it. Looks are subjective, of course, but I like its rounded retro shape and shiny finish. However, looks aren't everything, as I am now discovering. In use, the kettle has many downsides. For one thing, it's noisy. Not too bad with just a small volume of water, but when full it sounds like a rocket launcher. Added to which, it's wobbly on its base and starts to vibrate. The noise, the vibration - it's genuinely scary! Even worse, the boiled water has a strange taste I've not been able to eliminate despite carefully following the initial cleaning instructions. No idea what's going on there? A few minor niggles to finish with ..... I have found the filter totally impossible to re-fit ..... and my OH (with bad shoulder) finds the height of the handle awkward when it comes to pouring. This kettle is not cheap (I paid around £55) - the price isn't justified. Sorry!UPDATE: after using kettle for a while, the strange taste has disappeared. I'm using it without the filter (no choice, as I found the filter impossible to re-fit), so maybe the filter was to blame?
Jill GittinsI will advise to Not go for a kettle this shape. When you try to clean the limescale it actually gets stuck on the inside top edge and you have to use a tissue to get it out. The build quality is fine. It's bigger than it looks
MishPositives: Boils very quickly, easy to fill.Negatives: when used several times in succession, gets damp in electrics and pops out circuit breaker. Really disappointing. Now using 30 year old classic Russell Hobbs kettle as much more reliable.
BazaThe support page does not work and the kettle has stopped working after 2 months. Disappointed.
Duarte Nuno F M ConceicaoVery disappointed, there has been a consistent foul taste generated in this appliance
Mr M.Replacement for previous Russell Hobbs kettle - not had this high dome before but very pleased with it.Easy to use, with a light when heating up and a great pouring spout- no spills!
CitresseThis is a quality kettle for the price. Very sturdy, boils fast and can make 1 cup min. However the lid is a manual lift, which means you may get a steam burn if you are not careful, especially if you are used to a button operated lid.
A HODGKINSONFill level easily seen. Automatic temperature cut-off works very well. Blue mains light indicator very useful. Easily placed in its cradle. Quick boiling.Lid a bit fiddly to lift but kettle easily filled through spout instead. Pouring from spout very effective. Can be a bit noisy, but not a real problemAttractive design
PommeGood quality kettle easy pour like stated and fast boil. Very good product.
G J Rlove this kettle light good pouring easy to handle looks good, quick boiling
wicked witchThe kettle is very fast to boil water and is easy to hold.
GusNot noisy at all and quick boiling
Tony Cabanillasboils quickly, good value for money
a s bellReally like this kettle it’s light weight and pours nicely as well as not too noisy
Fiona mcguckinPositive features:1. It stops/goes off when removed from the base & it doesn’t switch on when put back on the base , unless switched on again. 2. Boil dry protection, so you don’t accidentally burn the kettle.Negative feature: 1. Difficult to fill it up as the fixed big upright handle gets in the way. 2. It is difficult to use the spout to fill the kettle because it is short & has difficult angle . 3. It is a bit bulky
Blue RiverWe were very impressed with it. Thank you.
Mrs. MorganDoes the job needed. Recommend this to anyone.
Jam1eXYQuite retro in looks and makes a welcome change from the usual jug kettle. Boils quickly and will boil small volumes of water. East to hold and fill. This is the best kettle we've had for ages.
